Employee Spotlight: Lukas Peter

Lukas Peter, Business Development Manager at Weidmann Medical Technology, has made significant strides during his year-long assignment in the United States. As he nears his ten-month mark, Lukas reflects on his personal and professional journey and the progress Weidmann Medical has made during this time. Read his story:

“Boarding the plane from Zurich to Boston shortly after Christmas 2022, I took a moment to ponder the impending change in both my professional and personal life. Immersing myself in Boston’s vibrant culture, a stark contrast to my tranquil Swiss origins, has been nothing short of transformative.

The city, renowned as the world’s leading Biotech Hub, has allowed me to participate in various business engagements: conferences, exhibitions, and networking receptions. It has broadened my professional connections beyond the confines of digital platforms and has facilitated encounters with diverse cultures, backgrounds, and life stories, all with a shared vision for innovation.

Direct liaisons with my colleagues at our production facility in Saltillo, Mexico, have been a significant part of my responsibilities. The caliber of support I have received from the team has been exceptional, reinforcing our collective determination to exceed customer expectations consistently. Expanding our North American business presence at the same time has enriched my journey with products such as Molecular Diagnostics, Auto-Injectors, and other advanced medical technologies. I am extremely grateful to Weidmann Medical Technology for facilitating this invaluable opportunity.

Equipped with advanced injection molding lines, a new clean room, and maintaining high-quality standards, its strategic location near a U.S. border crossing offers customers throughout the region several advantages. The proximity ensures shorter lead times, facilitating quicker deliveries and reducing transportation costs. As we continue to grow and expand, we stay dedicated to meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Underpinned by the privilege of working with an exemplary employer and an outstanding team in North America, I am excited for the months ahead and the knowledge I can bring back to Switzerland.
